Letting Go

I rarely post other people's writings on my blog. But i got this article in one of those email forwards. Wala lang.. Nice lang... Happy New Year!!!

Let It Go for 2006

There are people who can walk away from you.

And hear me when I tell you this. When people can
walk away from you:
let them walk.

I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you,
loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you,
staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you let them walk.
Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

The Bbible said that, "They came out from us that it
might be made manifest that they were not for us.
For had they been of us, no doubt
they would have continued with us." [1 John 2:19]

People leave you because they are not joined to you.
And if they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay.

Let them go!!

And it doesn't mean that they are a bad person
it just means that their part in the story is over.
And you've got to know when people's part in
your story is over so that you don't keep trying to
raise the dead.

You've got to know when it's dead.

You've got to know when it's over. Let me tell you something.
I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth spiritual gift,
I believe in good-bye. It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm
faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have,
He'll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat, I don't need it.
Stop begging people to stay.

Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you
and was never intended for your life, then you need to......

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains......

The MAPSA Encounter

Was with a friend the other day. Itago na lang natin sya sa pangalang "Marijo", di tunay na pangalan. She was driving me to my mom's office in Gamboa street. We made a U-Turn along Amorsolo (sa may pasay road).

Pagka u-turn, may MAPSA na naka-abang sa left. Si Marijo, di tunay na pangalan, stopped for about 3 seconds...

Marijo: Shit may pulis!!!
Tintin: Err... ano ba kasalanan mo?
Marijo: Oo nga ano.. wala.

One Fun-Filled Weekend in December

It was the first weekend of December. Unang unang weekend pa lang, busy na busy na. If it's a sign of what's in store for me this month, kelangan ko na yata magstock up on vitamins, tulog, hirit, at gamot sa hangover. =P

Enchanting Day with Cole

Spent Saturday at Enchanted Kingdom for the Shell Family Day. Haha! Shempre sabit kami ni Marijo, Chard and adorable Cole. Thanks Stip, Julie and Jackie! =)

Saturday was definitely Cole's day. Cole is Wichard's uber cute nephew. He's about 2 and a half. Terrible 2... NOT! Sobrang bait nitong batang to. Wish ko lang na pag ako nagka-anak, kasing bait nya.

One Tequila... Two Tequila...

It was Nikko and Bettina's birthday weekend in Tagaytay. The night started with leading questions passed on from one cutie to the next. Pinahirapan pa kami ni Syo! Titigil din pala ang usapan sa "Chocolate or Vanilla Ice Cream?" =) Tee hee hee!

Last November 28, I watched my first football game ever. Vietnam vs. Philippines in the Sea Games' Women's Football. We lost 4-1 though.

Bagong Buhay

A lot has happened in my life the past four months. Sa Family. Sa Love life. Sa Friends. Sa Career.

I think i reached the lowest point of my life. Parang nagsabay sabay lahat ng problema. To those close to me, you know exactly what i mean. At first i thought they were too much for me to handle. It wasn't until i started to appreciate the good things that were happening to me, that i realized how strong a person i was / am.

Nakayanan ko lahat ng yun. But of course, with guidance from Above, and the support of family & friends. =)

One of the good things that happened to me was finding a new job. =) Of course namimiss ko yung dati kong office. Magstay ka ba naman sa company for 5 years, di mo ba naman sila mamiss? hehehe! Dami ko kaya natutunan sa 25by8! ;-)

Naaalala ko pa yung unang office gimik namin... mukha pa akong anghel nyan... circa 2000...

And the last time i was with ex-officemates... mukha pa rin naman akong angel... hahahaha... wish ko lang... October 2005...

Now, am in a new company... not so new work... new people... new friends... new TRAFFIC!!!... new schedule... halos lahat new! ahehehe! =) Iba din ang gmik dito pag may birthday. Halos lahat kasi gurls. =)

Sa dati kong work, pag may birthday, may nakakantyawan magpakain. Sa bago kong work, pag may birthday, may bulaklak. Hahahahaha!

And malaki pasasalamat ko... lalo na sa teammates kong mga loka loka (pwera ikaw Ric... ikaw ang SHINING STAR!!! hahaha j/k)... for making my stay in Smart kulit and kwela...

Got a new dooo... courtesy of my ever bait stylist.
Itago na lang natin sya sa pangalang "Baldo".

Dati mga 2 years straight ako nagpaparebond.
Napagod ang hair ko.

Nung 2004, sabi ko parelax lang ako ng hair.
Si Baldo, nirebond pa din ako. Pero siningil ako ng relax.

Nung linggo, sabi ko patreatment lang ako (matinding hot oil).
At guess what... si Baldo... mukhang nirelax/rebond nanaman ako.

Malamang ayaw nya akong kulot.
So anyways, yan na ang aking bagong Doo... thanks to Baldo. =P

Isang Linggong Tambay

Hizon, Tintin, Badong. Isang linggo kami araw araw magkasama. Mukha na nga akong lalake! =)

Day 1
Nag-umpisa ang lahat nang umuwi si badong at si hizon galing sa Cali. naks. Bilog na silang dalawa pag-uwi. To think na si chard was just there for er.. hmm.. 2 weeks? mwhehhehe! peace chard! =)

On their first night, nag-aya kagad ng dinner with the tambay kids. Dinner sa Dencio's eastwood at walang kamatayang kulitan, asaran, at kwentuhan. =P

Went to Benissimo for coffee and dessert... oh and shempre we brought out the laptop to take advantage of their FREE WiFi! ahehe! Eventually, gusto na nila kami siguro paalisin kse late na... they turned off the WiFi. ayun, umuwi na kami.

Day 2
The next day, the 2 mokongs picked me up from gym. Had jap for dinner, but we were all so wasted to have coffee pa. Yosi yosi lang muna while babe-watching sa Metrowalk. Ayun, uwi na lang kami after.

Day 3 - 4
Dahil nga sa pagbabalik ni Badong, namiss yata nya and Sun, Sand, Surf and Sexy Friends. Ayun, off to Subic we went. Sayang di kumpleto ang tambay kids. Kelan kaya tayo makukumpleto ulet?

Highlights:
1. We were lucky to get FREE accomodations in Crown Peak. Thanks to Kuya Karl, who found us pakalat kalat in Subic.
2. Glow in the dark Baller ID!
3. Pier 1 dinner, pics and kulitan

4. Missed going on the go kart... hanggang 8pm lang pala. hehe!
5. Billiards! Lost one game lang. mwehehhe! angkinin daw ba! haha Tnx budz!

6. Ang minamadaling kape!
7. Nasira RSMMC ko!
8. Ang pun%^#*)^#tang paghihilik ni hizon. At ang mahiwagang LOTION! Bwahahaaha!

Day 5
Papa chard and badong went to market market to do some pasalubong shopping. They picked me up in the afternoon to go to Sparadisio. We took advantage of the sauna.. kung san tumagaktak ang pawis ni papa chard! bwahahahahaa! PArang pinakuluang karne. mwehehehe! Di na rin kami umabot ng 30mins sa sauna kse mukhang hihimatayin na si papa chard sa dami ng nawalang tubig sa katawan nya. eeeew! Got a great massage after that. For the first time, nakaidlip ako.

Question: Baket kumot ang binigay kay chard, and hindi towel like we got?

First time ko din kumain sa cafe Bola. hehe! Adobo Flakes with kesong puti!!! hay sarap!

Day 6
It was buddy's last night in Manila. Shempre balik na sya sa probinsya ng Folsom. Lunes na lunes pero labas pa din ang tambay kids. Had dinner at Hue in GB3, and had after dinner stuff at Max Brenner. Derecho CR pag katapos. bwhahaahaha!

Budz, less than 2 months na lang no... ismayl! =P

Kids, binusog nyo ako, pinatawa, pinuyat sa hilik, at pinaligaya. MAraming maraming salamat po! Sa January ulit!

The Amazing Bora Adventure

Went on an amazing race to Boracay last October 28 with my Fishyfishy friends. =) As usual... photo finish nanaman kami. But the important thing is.. we made it JIT! ahihihii!

Objectives of the trip were:

Have a relaxing and fun long weekend

Dapat less than P5K lang ang gastos

Asarin si Marijo (Objective ng boys. Taga-tawa lang ako)

Had dinner at MJ's place, and experienced her dad's humor and kakulitan. bwahahhaaha! =) Thanks soo much po for dinner!

Then Mond picked us up to go to their place naman. We ate again, while we waited for Hotstuff to finish packing. There we experienced their Mom's humor and kakulitan. Ahihihihii! Thanks Tita for dinner and kwento! =)

We left Makati 2 hours later than planned. But we made it just in time at the batangas pier. Good thing stippy made reservations! Promil kid ka talaga! =)

RORO from Batangas to Calapan was a 2-hour ride. Shempre we had our director's chairs with us, which made the ride uber comfy. We could stay anywhere we wanted. Tee hee hee! =)

Our Calapan to Roxas drive, on the other hand, is another story. As we drove outside the boat, crazy rain welcomed us. Baha na in no time. Even with Seinfeld in the background, we couldn't help but worry if the Corolla could get through the baha. Nung umabot na sa tuhod, we had to stop on higher ground. Stip and Chard helped a stranger get his bike out of the ditch. And that's when Chard lost the orange hollister. Sad. Dontchaworry, your slipper is probably in a happy place in the mountains or in the river... with the fishes or the bees and the birds and the trees... =P

We got to Roxas early, and we had time to freshen up a bit for our 5-hour ride to Caticlan. Hotstuff got most of his tan here. Mwehehehehe!

On our first morning, MJ and I went looking for hotdogs. Pero WALA!!!!!!!!!! 5pm pa daw lumalabas ang mga hotdog! ARgh!!!

The boys were trying to convince MJ to undergo lipo. Magkakaron daw ng fund racing thingy ''PISO PARA SA MESO''.

Fishyfishy Baguio

Spent the weekend with the Fishyfishies in Baguio. Being inclined to the beach and warm waters of the sea, the high altitude was a bit distressing to the fishies... NOT! hehe.

The cold weather and rain appealed to the sleeping sebo in our bodies. It actually called upon MORE sebo, urging us to just eat, sleep, yosi, drink coffee, and just lounge around watching tv or sharing kwento.

Highlights:

Overtaking cars, buses and jeepneys in Marcos Hiway.
Hotstuff accidentally locking himself out on the veranda, and Hotstuff having to wait more than 2 hours for us to get back.

The Normal Life

I remember when i was a kid and i just wanted to belong and be accepted by people for who i am. And i was abundantly blessed with great friends. =)

Then i said that when i grow up, i'd get married, have kids and live not really "a happily ever after" life... but more of a "normal" one. Like the life i grew up in.

But as you grow older, you realize that it's not as easy as it seems. You make a lot of difficult decisions. You get into different situations. And you find yourself in a life that is not as normal as you wish it to be.

But it's the life you chose. And i believe you can be as happy in it as you would be in the life you were wishing for. As long as you have the love, respect, faith, and support of the people you're sharing your life with, you can never go wrong.

Who knows... you might even get more than the "normal" life you were wishing for... and live happily ever after. =)

Company went on a kinda summer outing. hehe tag-ulan na kasi e. But the weather was very cooperative. Rain only poured when we were about to go home.

Got a bit curious and went through my old emails. Found funny email exchanges with stip and marijo 2 years ago. Found my recap of the year 2003 in my emails with Marijo. 2003 was our most active year. Wala kmeng ginawa kundi gumimik at mag out of town.

We forgot to make a recap for 2004 though. Pero sa bagay, it's not too late to make one.

Nangati tuloy ako and checked out emails 3 years back. Funny now became crazy. Bwahahahahaha! Even though it's really good reading material, i can't post it here for the purpose of saving us from kahihiyan. I would like to thank Stephen Cruz for starting the reminiscing mania. And to Marijoan Estolano for amusing me today. You made my day complete dearie. =)

Ungkatan ng Past Reunion

Last May 21, i met up with four of my college friends who i haven't seen in a long while.

Bonday was on vacation from her work in Singapore, while Daddy Glennie was celebrating his 31st birthday. Haha ibuking daw ba!

Being the only guy in the group, we put daddy glennie in the hot seat. =)
The ultimate question: ''Baket wala ka pa din girlfriend?'' And you can only imagine the train of questions that followed. Of course he tried to move the spotlight to us, asking us about our exes, who were also common friends. hahaha! Asa ka pa daddy glennie. =P

I've been asked these 2 questions a hundred times the past 3 years. To be honest, i don't really have answers. I guess i just choose to be single and happy for now. =P

Singapore - Phuket - Bangkok

Proud to be going places on an unimaginably low budget, we booked ourselves on tiger airways going to Phuket. S$25.98 basic fare for each leg! Hah! Tipid diba? But with the speed at which Filipinos respond to promos, we weren’t able to book at the cheapest rates. Ok lang, cheap pa din. =P

Phuket? Why Phuket?
Diba may Tsunami dun?
Madalas earthquake sa Indonesia.
Marami multo dun.
May makikita kang mga buto sa beach!
May huhugot sa paa mo while snorkeling!
Baka bumagsak yung Tiger Airways!

These are just some of the reactions I got after telling people I was going to Phuket... and on Tiger Airways at that. Hehe.. nothing could stop us. We were decided, and we already booked our flights and hotel online.

With our luggages in tow, we travelled to Clark, Pampanga on Whichie's van. We bought our stock of yo on the way. But we kinda forgot to eat an early lunch. A ''Big No No'' (as the flight attendants would say about smoking in the plane). Haha ginutom tuloy kami.

Boarding time was like a scene from the Amazing Race. The boys rushed to board early, with Rhichie in the line for ''passengers with small children''. Nyahaahaha! Lumusot naman, and the boys were able to reserve seats for us girls plus stip. In fairness, all the Tiger Airways planes were brand spankin new! Ang bango bango!

16 Hours in SingaporeArriving just before 3pm in Singapore, bangag na kami sa gutom. We got our bags and deposited them at the ''Left Baggage'' counter… for a fee…before having a hearty lunch and exploring Singapore.

Things I Learned in Singapore:
1. ''Left Baggage'' is not a Lost & Found counter, but a Baggage Deposit service.
2. Richard’s cam and lenses are worth just about the same as the mother of pearl Rolex he bought. And one of his cam lenses is worth the same as a Brietling.
3. Attempting to take photos during the night safari will prove futile.
4. 3 minutes is 3 minutes!
5. ''The last train from Tenah Merah to Changi Airport has already left.'' Yep, they had to play it just for us crazy tourists.
6. Missed Train = Cab Ride
7. Once you pass through immigration, you cannot go back in the Transit Lounge, until check-in time.
8. The café couches are comfy options outside the Transit Lounge. Of course you have to order something, leave it on the table, so you’ll have an excuse to sit/lie around. Hehe!
9. People actually use ashtrays.
10. Having a smoke is good exercise.

Phuket
It was a rainy morning when we arrived in Phuket. But it was definitely not a sign of what’s to come. The rain stopped when we got to Patong beach. And the weather was great the whole time we were there. We celebrated Wichard’s birthday on our first Phuket Meal. Thanks sa libre chard! =)

On our second day, we went island hopping. We rode a speedboat along with other tourists. But being the crazy people that we are, we sat ourselves at the head of the boat, taking in the gorgeous view of the sea and the islands.

It wasn’t a smooth ride all the way. It was a ticklish ride for my sensitive insides. Para akong nasa roller coaster!

Leonardo DiCaprio’s ''The Beach'' was a sight to see. Shempre pictures galore! Posted the photos at: http://tintoot.smugmug.com/gallery/553591. Message me na lang for the password. I have a crazy stalker e.

We also went to Monkey Beach (yeah, there really are monkeys), Bamboo Island, Phiphi island and Khai Island. =) Went snorkeling and shempre picture taking! Ahehehehe! =P

Had buffet lunch at Holiday Inn Phiphi Island. And the band that was playing is a group of Pinoy men. They sang Tagalog songs, that’s how we found out. Malay ba naman ng ibang foreigners na it’s not Thai they’re singing. =P

Chard: How tall is Everest? (referring to the mountain)
Stip: Mga kasing taas ng Expedition? (referring to the SUV)
Chie: (laughing at Stip... but totally clueless, thinking the Expedition stip was referring to has something to do with the mountains)

On our third day, we went elephant trekking.

Things I learned during the Elephant Trek
1. Elephants fart.
2. They poo a big mound of poo.
3. They pee a tubful.
4. When you give them food, that’s their trunk/nose they reach out with, not their mouth. So it’s uhog that’s dripping, and not laway (Sorry, I forget.).
5. Our elephant is a logger by profession

In the afternoon, the boys (minus whichie), went bungee jumping. Taga-picture lang ako. But I enjoyed hearing them scream. Hehehe! =)

Bangkok
Bangkok was a different experience. In contrast to Phuket, less people knew how to speak English. But it was like a big shopping mall. Everywhere you look, there are shops. We stayed in the garments area, and we saw lots of Filipinos who bought goods in bulk to sell in Manila.

Our first night, we watched ''Calypso Cabaret'', a variety show with sexy and pretty LadyMen (She-males). Kaka-insecure ha!

We went on a whole day tour of Bangkok on our second day. It was ubbberly HOT! But seeing elephants dancing was worth the trip. Ang kukulet nila!

That night we watched a freak show near Patpong, Bangkok’s red light district. We saw gurls doing acrobatic acts with their thingies. Can’t help but think they might have robotic arms inside their thingies.

Our last day was reserved for a half day temple tour and more shopping, then we were off to the airport for our flight back to Singapore then to Clark.

Things I learned in Thailand
1. When you ask people, any place is just a 10-minute walk/ride from where you are.
2. Tuktuks are more expensive than cabs.
3. Never ride a Tuktuk or Cab in front of a sosy mall or hotel.
4. If you see a pretty gurl, be cautious. Wait till you hear her speak.
5. …If still unsure, check the eyebrows (c/o rhichie).
6. MBK is shopping heaven.
7. Always keep close watch of your wallet.
8. Tawad muna before choosing.
9. Prices are mostly BHT99 or BHT199.
10. Buddhas in Thailand are thin.
11. Never speak in complex sentences. Phrases are ok, but words are better.
12. Not Spicy = My Pet
13. Pad Thai = Uric Acid = Sakit sa Tuhod
14. Mastercard will get you anywhere.
15. When crossing, look to the right first, then to the left.

All in all, it was one Great Trip! Next year ulit! Or maybe China in October for the F1 race. =)
